1 Read and judge

规则：Read and judge. “Yeah, yeah,yeah” or “ No, no, no”

Picture 1: Mike, Helen and Tim are at a shopping centre.

They see the sign “No parking”.

Picture 2:They go into a juice shop. They want some juice.

The sign here means they can litter.

Picture 3: They want to go to the bookshop.

They can't take their juice into the shop.

Picture 4: There's a woman smoking in the restaurant.

The sign means people can't smoke in the restaurant.

T: Different signs have different meanings. And what do they mean? Work in two, discuss.You can use the sentences: What does this sign mean? It means you should/  can't...

四人小组自行讨论标志的含义，并核对答案

No parking.   It means you can't park here.

No littering.   It means you can't litter here.

No eating or drinking. It means you can't eat or drink here.

No smoking.  It means you can't smoke here.

Danger.      It means we must stay away from it. (拓展stay away from 远离)

Wet floor.    It means the floor is wet. We should be careful.

3 discuss about the rules

Learning tips:

(1) No + doing,表示禁止做某事，用于表述具体的标志名称。

(2) 有时也可以用 “ No + 名词复数” “ Don’t +动词原形” 表示标志名称。

（呈现禁止拍照  No photos.    禁止触摸 Don't touch）

(3) 标志的名称用于句子中，常需要加上引号。如: It means “No parking”.

Learning tips:

(1) 表示单个标志的含义，后面动词mean 用三单形式“means”。

(2) 后面可以加一个完整的表示建议、要求的句子，主语可用you 或者we, 常用can't表达否定要求，用should 表达建议。

(3) can、should是情态动词，后面加动词原形。

4 Discuss about the new signs

T: Now, look, Mike is in the street. And he sees four new signs.What do they mean? Please work in four, ask and answer like this:

T: Mike is in the library and he is reading an interesting book about metros.  Let's have a look.

T: After reading, we know that in the UK, people call the metro                 , in the US, people call the metro               .

Step 4 Fun time

1 Talk about the signs

T: Now, look, Mike and his friends are in the park. And what do they want to do in the park?

引导学生说出以下句型He wants to...She wants to ...为下文描述标志做铺垫。

T: But can they do these in the park?

S: No.

T: There are a lot of signs in the park. Let's work in two to ask and answer like this:

What does this sign mean? It means we can't / should ...

核对答案。（就是上文的四张图）

2 Play the game

呈现整个Fun time 的游戏图片

Rules: 两人小组，分别投掷骰子，遇到标志图，要回答对方的问题。回答正确则停在该格子。回答错误返回原来格子。看一看谁先到达终点。
