一.教学目标:

1.  学生可以准确流利的用英语表达小鸟的方位。

2.  通过学习绘本,了解Frank的方位:Frank is in a… ./ Frank is on a… .

3.  通过学习绘本,会读含有Aa/æ/的单词:Frank, rat, apple, hat……

4.  能初步感知绘本,理解绘本的含义。

三.教学过程:

Step1 Warm-up

1.  Enjoy a song” Where’s the bird?”

2.  Review:

T: Look at these pictures. Can you tell me, Where’s the bird?

Students look at the picture and say the answer.

T: Oh~ The bird flies away. The little rat comes out. Where’s the rat?

S: It’s under the tree.

Step2 Presentation

1.  New friend

T: This little rat is our new friend. Do you have any questions to ask him?

Students try to ask questions: How old is rat?

                          What is he doing?

                          Where is he now?

                          What’s your name?

2.  The title:

T: I can tell you. His name is Frank. Can you say “Hello” to Frank?

S: Hello/ Hi/ Good morning. /Nice to meet you.

T: Frank is a rat. Let’s read the title together.

S: Frank the rat

T: What can you see in this title?

S: The big A./ Frank /Frank have a sausage.

3.  First reading:

T: Please read the pictures quickly and order these pictures.

Students read and order the pictures.

4.  Second reading:

T: You’re so clever. But can you tell me, where’s Frank? Please read and divide the pictures.

Students read the pictures and divide them to in/on.

T: Great! Please use in/on to tell me.

S: Frank is in/on a(n)… .

5.  Read and match:

T: Can you try to read these words? Please read and match them.

Students read and match the words.

6.  Read and fill in:

T: I think you can finish these sentences now.

Students choose the words to fill in the blanks.

7.  Read and find:

T: Can you find out the words with a/ æ /

Students read and find the words out.

T: Now let’s read these words.

Students read the words.

Review the word: Magic eyes

8.  Read the picture book.

T: Frank says “Oh no”. Do you remember why?

S: Frank is on a cat.

T: How to say this sentence? Can you be Frank?

Students say the sentence

T: Well done! Can you guess what happened then?

Students say their idea.

T: Look, Frank is in a hole now.

Step3 Consolidation

1.  Retell the story:

Retell in group

Retell for classmates

2.  What do you think of Frank?

3.  Look at your questions, Do you know the answer?

Step4 Homework

1.Share Frank’s story with family.

Step5 Blackboard writing design
